My Diary

Every day I tell my daddy about my treatment, and he publishes it on my site. I am not able to write yet. But I like to draw and mould. Below you can see my pictures and what I have moulded.

December 13, 2005

The first day in the hospital. Ksusha is very much afraid of tests which are constantly being carried out. The girl does not let her mum go anywhere.

December 14, 2005

A puncture research of the bone marrow has been done. The aplastic anemia is suspected. Ksusha is transferred to the isolation ward of the blood cancer chemotherapy department.

December 20, 2005

The bone marrow was taken from the breast (right and left crests ileac bones) for research. This was done under narcosis. Therefore it did not hurt much.

December 29, 2005

It became known that the younger little sister cannot be the donor of the bone marrow.

January 5, 2006

The temperature is up to 40 degrees, weakness grows.

January 6, 2006

The condition of the girl worsens progressively. The temperature is practically not reduced.

January 7, 2006

Besides the high temperature pains in a stomach have appeared. Peritonitis is suspected. Transfer into the intensive care unit is being considered. The stomach pains have decreased by the evening, the temperature has decreased a little also.

January 9, 2006

The condition improves. The appetite is better but Ksusha is not allowed to eat everything she likes. The temperature rises seldom.

January 12, 2006

Condition is quite stable. Rare rises of temperature up to 38 degrees.

January 15, 2006

The temperature did not rise above 37 degrees. Ksusha was allowed to eat everything but not too much.

January 17, 2006

Chemotherapy was planned to start tomorrow but the temperature has risen to above 38 degrees in the evening and lasted all night. I’m suffering from the severe cough. Thrombocytes have been transfused

January 20, 2006

The temperature is above 38 degrees for the 3rd day. Antibiotics cause a severe allergy. Chemotherapy is postponed indefinitely.

January 22, 2006

Thanks God! The temperature has fallen to 37 degrees. Skin allergy has reduced. We can smile again! The appetite is good too!

Небольшая температура

January 24, 2006

Temperature is between 37.6 and 37.8, sometimes it is falls to normal. We’ve applied for disability status. Ksusha is learning needlework. She is quite good at it. Ksusha misses home and her little sister.

January 26, 2006

The course of immunosuppression has begun. Girl's condition so far is stable. The course is expected to cause blood parameters to degrade even further. Donors, where are you?

January 29, 2006

Ksusha is half way through the course of Anti-lymphocyte Globulin (ALG). Four more infusions are still to go. Other treatments are planned after that. The ALG treatment has not caused any complications yet. Temperature is normal.

January 31, 2006

Severe vomiting started towards the evening, after another ALG infusion and blood transfusion. It continued through the night. The temperature has not risen. The girl feels very weak and queasy.

February 1, 2006

Vomiting has stopped in the morning. Ksusha has been asleep during the day. She is still very weak. The plan is to insert subclavicelar catheter and continue ALG treatment tomorrow.

February 4, 2006

ALG course has been completed. Almost a month of hormone therapy is ahead.

February 8, 2006

Two more weeks of hormone therapy are still to go. Blood pressure is going up and down sometimes. Weakness is causing afternoon naps. Condition is OK in general. Doctors allowed to go outside for a walk but freezing temperature keep me in the isolation ward.

February 23, 2006

There are two more days of hormone therapy left. After that we need to wait for the results. I'm going for a walk every day. The condition is stable.

March 4, 2006

Thrombocyte transfusion was performed on Wednesday. Percentage of thrombocytes has increased (greater than zero). However, leukocytes level has dropped significantly (3000 in the last blood test). Haemoglobin level is decreasing as well but not as rapidly (currently 70g/l). We're looking for ways to get treatment abroad. We need to raise funds for such
treatment.
